Mr. Fred B. Miller Jr.
Born in 1923, Mr. Miller grew up in Jacksonville, where he received his early education in the local public schools. He went on to attend several prestigious colleges and universities to further his education. He then entered the Army Air Corp and served, with distinction, for his country. Mr Miller became the President of the local Dairy Association, and in 1959, eventually assumed the role of a local Dairyman.
Mr. Miller became an outstanding voice for the agricultural community and devoted much of his time to promoting programs that benefited that community. He was instrumental in the founding and creation of the Duval Soil and Water Conservation District, a non-partisan unit of government. Serving as a member for 48 years, Mr. Miller was the longest serving Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. As a central supporter of the Envirothon, and the natural history education it encourages, the local Envirothon competition is named after Mr. Fred B. Miller, Jr. We are very grateful for his inspiration and support! http://www.duvalsoilandwater.com/blog/resolution-honoring-mr-fred-b-miller-jr Vertical Divider
